Job summary

Baker Tilly in New York is seeking a Principal focused on Valuation Services to lead the practice, grow client relationships, and deliver complex valuation engagements. You will mentor staff, drive business development, and collaborate across offices to expand services with private equity clients.

The role emphasizes leadership, strategic development, and delivering high-quality valuation work for tax, transaction and compliance purposes. Extensive travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting or economics required; MBA or Master’s in Business Valuations preferred
• CPA, CFA or ASA designation preferred
• Minimum fifteen (10+) years of related experience in a complex organization; experience in leading teams and fostering inclusive culture
• History of relationships with private equity firms and their portfolio companies
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and SharePoint)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; self-directed with strong interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

• Grow and manage the New York-based Valuation Consulting team, through developing an area of expertise
• Manage/perform consulting engagements as required
• Develop relationships with private equity firms to generate repeat business and revenue
• Collaborate with other offices and industry groups to develop consulting practices
• Attend valuations industry trade shows and participate in marketing and sales programs
• Develop training programs for clients and prospects
• Present topics at Valuation seminars and webinars
• Write articles for publications in Valuation periodicals
• Develop public speaking opportunities at industry events
• Provide project management and leadership to cross-functional teams
• Support team development and coaching of staff
