Job summary

Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. in Jersey City is seeking an Associate for the Private Valuation Oversight team within AWM to oversee private debt and equity valuations of roughly $23bn market value in the Private Credit Group and BDC platform.

You will verify prices, interact with portfolio managers, traders and control functions, and prepare investor and regulatory reporting, including MD&A disclosures and valuation committee material.

Qualifications

• Degree in Finance or Accounting; CPA/CFA or MBA preferred.
• 4–6 years of relevant work experience (public/private).
• Experience valuations of private equity and private debt; knowledge of market approaches and DCF.
• Strong understanding of WACC, CAPM, and Contingent Claims Analysis models.
• Knowledge of Fixed Income and Equities markets and the alternative investment management industry.
• Extensive Microsoft Office experience.
• Strong communication and ability to present to senior managers.
• Ability to work in a team and multitask.

Responsibilities

• Oversee quarterly valuation process for private debt and equity positions.
• Verify prices and perform yield, DCF and market analyses.
• Interact daily with portfolio managers, Fund Accounting and Operations.
• Prepare investor and regulatory reporting, including disclosures.
• Present valuation analyses to the valuation committee.
• Support internal/external audits and SOX control documentation.
