Job summary

The Goldman Sachs Group in Jersey City, NJ is seeking a qualified professional to support Public Product Control within Asset & Wealth Management. The role focuses on oversight of private debt and equity valuations for a $23bn market value, supporting the Private Credit Group and BDC platform.

Responsibilities include price verification of private investments, investor and regulatory reporting, and collaboration with Controllers, portfolio management, and traders.

Qualifications

• Degree in Finance or Accounting preferred
• CPA/CFA or MBA preferred
• 4-6 years relevant experience (public and/or private)
• Strong understanding of WACC, CAPM and Contingent Claims Analysis
• Strong knowledge of Fixed Income and Equities markets

Responsibilities

• Oversee quarterly valuation for private debt and equity positions, analyze financial statements, yield and DCF methods
• Involvement in independent third‑party valuation processes
• Support external/internal audit reviews and MD&A disclosures
• Prepare investor and regulatory reporting; participate in valuation committee presentations
• Daily interaction with portfolio managers, Fund Accounting and Operations
• Understand SOX 404 controls and document evidence of controls
• Develop broad understanding of credit markets and the BDC industry
