Job summary

HarbourVest Partners in Boston is seeking an Assistant Director to lead end-to-end valuation activities across the Evergreen platform. You will coordinate valuations, work with deal teams and auditors, and ensure well-supported conclusions aligned with policies and fair value standards.

You will develop models, review third-party analyses, and help govern valuation processes while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• 8–10 years of relevant valuation/investment analysis experience.
• Experience developing, reviewing, and enhancing valuation models.
• Understanding of fair value principles and valuation methodologies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with senior stakeholders.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Ability to guide junior team members.
• Experience partnering with investment teams, finance, auditors, and external valuation providers.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Be responsible for end-to-end valuation activities for assigned direct investments.
• Review third-party valuation analyses and assess key assumptions, methodologies, and conclusions.
• Develop valuation models for new investments and enhance existing models.
• Partner with deal teams and internal collaborators to obtain financial data and performance updates.
• Support governance and valuation committee processes, including review and approval of results.
• Coordinate valuation timelines and respond to inquiries, driving process improvements.
