Job summary

American Honda Motor Company, Inc. is seeking an experienced candidate to support the Lighting and Vision Department by conducting laboratory tests on vehicles. You will prepare and execute development and validation tests for new-model lighting and vision systems, analyze data, and ensure regulatory compliance.

The role requires attention to detail, teamwork, and engineering expertise, with 40% office, 50% lab, and 10% meetings. Overtime may be significant during peak testing periods.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in science/engineering/automotive preferred or equivalent experience.
• 5 years Research and Development Laboratory Testing.
• Data Acquisition, Test Equipment, Instrumentation, CAD/Engineering drawings, Microsoft Office Suite, Coordinate Measurement Machines, High Speed Video, Electronic and Hydraulic Control Systems, Leadership.

Responsibilities

• Supports contract staff through training, quality control and accountability.
• Identifies and solves potential problems with part quality.
• Identify potential or current test performance issues and apply countermeasures with design & test engineering staff.
• Coordinates visitor compliance with safety policies and procedures.
• Directs the proper use of test equipment considering capabilities, limits, and safe use of the equipment.
• Program Data Acquisition, identify Instrumentation mounting location and install Instrumentation per SAE J211.
• Review Test data and confirm accuracy and validity.
