Job summary

BorgWarner Emissions Systems Spain SL is seeking a Test Engineer to support validation and development testing of engine solenoids and electrical actuators. You will lead test plans, coordinate equipment and facility needs, and deliver detailed validation reports.

The role requires hands-on lab work, data acquisition, and script development in MATLAB and LabVIEW, with collaboration across engineering teams and OEM customers. This is a full-time on-site position based in Auburn Hills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical or Electrical)
• 3-5 years in product development or validation test environment preferred
• Experience with test equipment calibration and data acquisition
• Familiarity with automotive electrical specs (GM3172, CS00056, CS00054, VW80000, ISO 16750)
• Proficient in data analysis using Excel, MATLAB, Minitab; SPC/MSA knowledge

Responsibilities

• Support validation of new engine solenoid and electric motor products
• Develop DVP&R and test timelines from customer specifications with application engineers
• Coordinate design and development of test equipment and fixtures
• Schedule validation workload and execute DVP&R and product development testing
• Assist engineers to design tests and interpret customer requirements
• Support problem-solving activities in product development
• Coordinate Measurement Systems Analysis of test equipment
• Summarize test data and document validation tests with reports
• Support capital equipment planning and procurement
• Develop data reduction and analysis scripts in MATLAB
• Develop test control and DAQ software in LabVIEW
• Operate in-house test equipment and manage external testing vendors
• Support on-engine dyno testing at customer sites as needed
