Job summary

Amperesand is seeking a Staff Integration and Validation Engineer-SF to lead the validation of power electronics in solid-state transformers. You will own the validation strategy from first bring-up through production, designing test systems, and driving continuous regression for high‑power hardware.

You will collaborate with hardware, firmware, magnetics, and mechanical teams, mentor on HV practices, and travel to global facilities to deploy solutions.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Electrical or Computer Engineering required.
• 6+ years hands-on experience in test, validation, or integration engineering with power electronics.
• Demonstrated ownership of a product/subsystem through full validation cycle.
• Strong HV lab skills and safety-first approach to working at power.
• Experience with PCBA schematics and debugging to component level.

Responsibilities

• Own validation strategy, plan, and schedule from design validation to production ramp.
• Design, develop, and maintain test systems for high-voltage, high-current power electronics.
• Characterize and validate electrical, thermal, and performance behavior across prototypes to production.
• Own regression suite and automate it for continuous operation.
• Drive root cause analysis on failures and field escapes to verified closure.
• Collaborate with hardware, firmware, magnetics, mechanical, and systems teams from architecture reviews onward.
• Mentor engineers on HV practice, measurement techniques, and debugging methodologies.
• Establish and uphold high-voltage safety practices in the lab.
