Job description

Now Hiring: Validation Engineer | $32/hr+ | PTO + Benefits | On-Site in Auburn Hills, MI

We’re looking for a detail-oriented and hands-on Validation Engineer to join our team in Auburn Hills, MI (48326). This is a direct hire, on-site role offering competitive pay starting at $32.00/hour, along with paid time off and a full benefits package.

This role is critical to supporting our engine development and testing processes. If you have experience in validation, engine assembly, and test planning, this is your opportunity to make a direct impact in a fast-paced and highly technical environment.

  • Carry out Bill of Materials (BOM) management, releasing BOMs into the management system
  • Coordinate engine build schedules to meet customer and internal testing timelines
  • Lead/support engine builds in the EBU and preparation in METS
  • Successfully build and deliver engine assemblies to dyno cells for DV testing and mule vehicle builds
  • Maintain detailed build records and manage disposition or storage of engines
  • Support dyno testing and assist in setup, execution, and data collection
  • Lead maintenance, development, and improvement of test procedures and validation plans (DV and PV)
  • Develop and execute DV/PV tests based on performance requirements, DFMEA, and field issues
  • Conduct root cause analysis and support corrective action plans for validation issues
  • Create and publish test result reports and incident reports for engineering follow-up
  • Provide weekly reporting to the Chief Engineer organization and update Test Timing Plans and DVP&Rs
  • Lead post-test analysis and teardown reviews, and archive all test documentation in PDS
  • Provide clear disposition instructions for test parts and ensure full documentation closure

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (ABET accredited or equivalent)
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in automotive testing or engine validation
  • Understanding of automotive validation tools such as DFMEA and DVP&R
  • Familiarity with internal combustion engine design, components, and dyno testing
  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
  • Comfortable working on-site 3–5 days per week
