Job summary

VPNE is seeking a Valet Attendant - Traffic Controller in Providence, RI to help manage traffic flow at construction zones and other areas impacted by traffic.

You will direct traffic with hand signals and cones, monitor for hazards, communicate with drivers and pedestrians, and assist with valeting cars or other garage roles as needed. Requirements include being 18+, holding a driver’s license, and fluent English; schedule is Monday to Friday, with two possible shifts.

Position Summary

A Valet Attendant - Traffic Controller is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient traffic flow in construction zones or areas prone to the impact of traffic. Valet Attendant - Traffic controllers will need to support other workers by valeting cars or stepping into different garage roles when necessary.

Schedule: Mondays - Fridays 9am - 5:30pm or 7:30am - 4pm

Responsibilities

• Direct traffic safely and efficiently, using hand signals, flags, or other signals to guide vehicles and pedestrians through construction sites or around road closures.

• Always be vigilant and aware of potential hazards. They must ensure drivers and pedestrians follow safety protocols and take appropriate precautions to prevent accidents.

• Traffic controllers must communicate effectively with drivers, pedestrians, and other workers.

• May be responsible for setting up cones, barriers, and other traffic control devices, ensuring these devices are visible to drivers.

• Monitoring traffic flow: Traffic controllers must monitor traffic flow to identify potential problems or bottlenecks. They may need to adjust their signals or take other actions to keep traffic moving smoothly.

• Must follow all safety protocols and regulations to prevent accidents and ensure their safety.

• Traffic controllers will need to support other workers by valeting cars or stepping into different garage roles when necessary.

Qualifications:
