Job summary

The Pfister Hotel in downtown Milwaukee, part of Marcus Hotels & Resorts, is seeking a friendly Bellman/Porter to welcome guests, assist with luggage, and coordinate transportation. You will greet guests, help with directions, and support front desk operations to ensure a seamless lobby experience.

Qualifications

• Must have a safe driving record and be able to pass a Motor Vehicle Report.
• At least two years of driving experience required.
• Ability to drive automatic and manual transmission vehicles safely.
• Prior hospitality or customer service experience preferred.
• Excellent communication skills in English.
• Ability to move luggage and packages up to 55 lbs continuously.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend and climb stairs for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Warmly greet guests on arrival and departure and assist with directions and inquiries.
• Help guests in entering/exiting vehicles and assist with luggage and transport.
• Park and retrieve guest vehicles, including manual transmissions, as needed.
• Coordinate taxis or rideshares for guests and assist with luggage tagging.
• Remain stationed at the entrance to ensure attentive service and lobby flow.
• Provide information about hotel services and local attractions.
• Support Bell and Front Office teams to ensure smooth operations.
• Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.

What You Will Be Doing

• Warmly greet guests as they arrive and depart, offering assistance with directions, luggage, and general inquiries.
• Assist guests in entering and exiting their vehicles safely and comfortably.
• Park and retrieve guest vehicles promptly and with care, including manual transmission vehicles.
• Transport guest luggage from vehicles to bell carts and assist with group luggage tagging and storage.
• Arrange taxis, rideshares, or other transportation for guests as needed.
• Remain posted at the hotel entrance to ensure attentive guest service at all times.
• Provide information about hotel services and local attractions.
• Support Bell and Front Office teams as needed to ensure smooth lobby flow and guest satisfaction.
• Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.

Position Requirements

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to speak and understand English clearly.
• Strong physical ability to grasp, lift, carry, and move packages, boxes, and luggage up to 55 lbs. continuously throughout the shift.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, run, and climb stairs for extended periods in a variety of weather conditions.
