Qualifications

• Education: Master's degree required or bachelor’s degree with at least 8 years of relevant experience in lieu of Master’s.
• Language: Native or near-native fluency in Spanish.
• Experience: 4+ years in education abroad, student advising, or program coordination.
• Computer: Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Experience studying or living abroad in a Spanish-speaking country.

Responsibilities

• Provide advising, referral, and resources for UVA students interested in education abroad, including program selection, funding sources, and pre-departure guidance.
• Maintain expertise in Higher Education systems in the assigned region and oversee a portfolio of programs.
• Develop and promote UVA in Valencia and other programs online, on Grounds, and at education abroad fairs.
• Manage relationships with U.S. colleges and universities sending students to UVA Valencia.
• Oversee program admissions, enrollment, and transfer credit compliance; manage visa processes for ~300 applications annually.
• Supervise Education Abroad Advisor(s) and collaborate with UVA Education Abroad leadership.
