The University of Virginia is seeking a Senior Education Abroad Advisor & Assistant Director for UVA in Valencia. This in-person role supports UVA's global education mission through advising, program coordination, and visa processing for approximately 300 applications per year.

Minimum qualifications include a master's degree (or a bachelor’s with 8+ years of relevant experience) and native Spanish fluency. Occasional international travel is involved; anticipated start is November 2026.

Formación

• Master's degree required or bachelor's with at least 8 years of relevant experience in lieu of Master’s.
• Native or near-native fluency in Spanish.
• 4+ years of relevant professional experience, including student advising or program coordination, and experience studying or living abroad in a Spanish-speaking country.
• Experience with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Responsabilidades

• Provide advising, referral, and resources for UVA students interested in education abroad, including goal setting and funding sources.
• Maintain expertise in Higher Education systems of an assigned region and oversee portfolio of programs and exchanges.
• Develop and promote UVA in Valencia and other programs online, on Grounds, and at education abroad fairs.
• Develop relationships with US colleges/universities sending students to UVA in Valencia; oversee admissions and enrollment; ensure transfer credits.
• Provide pre-departure guidance and manage transcript requests for UVA in Valencia.
• Maintain visa process knowledge and manage batch applications for ~300 visas per year.
• Supervise assigned Education Abroad Advisor(s) and support UVA Education Abroad as needed.
