Job summary

The Christ Hospital Health Network seeks a Ventricular Assist Device (VAD) Patient Coordinator, a clinical expert registered nurse who guides VAD patients from pre-implant through discharge and ongoing care. You will integrate with multidisciplinary teams, educate patients and families, and ensure safe, evidence-based practice across the program.

The role requires a BSN, Ohio RN license with BLS/ACLS, and 2 years in cardiology or cardiac surgery; strong communication and data management skills

Qualifications

BSN degree and RN license in Ohio; BLS and ACLS certifications required.
Two years of recent clinical nursing experience in cardiology or cardiac surgery.
Experience educating patients and families; strong data/documentation skills.

Responsibilities

Educator: evaluate competency of clinical staff, patients, family members, physicians and community health resources related to VAD care.
Researcher: function as study coordinator for national VAD/HF studies and translate findings to practice.
Case Manager: manage VAD patients from referral to implant, discharge and follow-up.
VAD Patient Care Manager: oversee equipment, supplies, policies and procedures for the VAD program.
Customer Satisfaction: improve relationships among patients, staff, and external customers.
Leader: collaborate with interdisciplinary team and Program Manager; strong communication and computer skills.
Safety: adhere to policies; make sound decisions in unstructured situations.
