Job summary

Schmalz Flexible Gripping Inc. seeks an entry‑level Applications Engineer to learn vacuum automation and handling systems in a manufacturing setting. You will apply theory to practical solutions and support customers, distributors, and sales teams with inquiries.

You will test products, prepare quotations, and create Solidworks CAD drawings to help manage system sales, while traveling to customer sites as projects require.

Responsibilities

• Learn Schmalz Vacuum Automation & Handling Systems products and general robotics in a manufacturing environment.
• Apply vacuum automation theory to recommend safe and effective solutions for applications.
• Support end customers, distributors, sales engineers and key account managers with inquiries.
• Test customer products with vacuum technology.
• Provide advanced quotations to customers and distributors.
• Use Solidworks 3D CAD to interpret data and manage system sales.
