ROLE SUMMARY
The Vaccines & Antivirals Field Medical, Director is responsible for providing therapeutic area/product expertise across a broad range of external medical stakeholders (EMS) and initiatives within an assigned territory (Washington, Oregon, Alaska).
- Plan and execute independent Medical strategy and engagement with external medical stakeholders in the territory, ensuring compliance and coordination with Pfizer colleagues to meet Medical objectives.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant therapeutic areas/disease states and Pfizer medicines, providing information to internal and external stakeholders as needed.
- Act as a conduit for Medical Information and stakeholder insights, sharing information and viewpoints appropriately per Pfizer guidelines.
- Align Medical educational content strategies with Pfizer Medical Affairs priorities and execute relevant Field Medical tactics.
- Ensure effective communication and collaboration among headquarters Medical teams, Medical Information, and Field Medical colleagues.
- Demonstrate expertise in scientific communication through various channels, including presentations, written communication, and virtual interactions.
- Incorporate health literacy and cultural awareness principles to optimize patient care in all medical communications.
- Conduct activities in compliance with policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Educate external stakeholders on disease states and guideline-based care to enhance understanding and patient outcomes.
- Achieve engagement targets with external medical stakeholders as defined by leadership.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Deliver approved medical content about Pfizer medicines and relevant topics.
- Provide education on Pfizer's clinical and economic impact, including data analyses and outcomes evaluations.
- Share objective, scientifically supported medical information regarding Pfizer medicines and disease prevention.
- Execute projects and collaborations in compliance with regulations.
- Lead Medical account plans for external stakeholders, sharing insights and identifying collaboration opportunities.
- Engage with healthcare landscape stakeholders, such as Quality Improvement Organizations and advocacy groups, to understand and align with their priorities.
- Collaborate with internal teams to understand data needs and outcomes of interest.
- Identify and seek medical engagement from priority stakeholder segments.
- Respond truthfully and accurately to unsolicited medical requests, adhering to Pfizer guidelines.
- Lead advisory boards and manage inbound stakeholder queries.
- Partner with colleagues on clinical trial site identification, including underrepresented populations.
- Support Investigator Sponsored Research (ISR) activities.
- Develop therapeutic and research expertise, staying current with congress data and literature.
- Provide leadership in asset management and study design understanding.
- Communicate effectively with local Patient Advocacy Groups and serve on cross-functional committees.
- Represent Pfizer Medical Affairs in professional societies, demonstrating professionalism.
- Mentor colleagues and participate in special projects as needed.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- MD or DO degree required.
- At least 4 years of relevant experience.
- Experience in hospital therapies, outcomes, epidemiology, clinical management, or related fields is a plus.
- Subject matter expertise in vaccines and/or antivirals recognized externally and internally.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects remotely, prioritize effectively, and work in a matrix environment.

- Proven problem-solving, networking, and collaboration skills.
- Self-starter with accountability and a sense of urgency.
- Technical skills and comfort with digital tools for medical interactions.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge of SOPs, regulations, and external stakeholder interactions.
- Previous field medical experience.
- Experience with health IT systems and EHR platforms.
- Understanding of the US healthcare system and emerging trends.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Willingness to travel 40-50%, operate a company car, and attend meetings at various locations.
