Job summary

Merck in West Point, Pennsylvania, is seeking a Sterile and Packaging Operations Technician to support start-up vaccine manufacturing by performing preventive and corrective maintenance on formulation, filling, inspection, and packaging equipment. This role also provides shop floor operations and environmental monitoring support within the Vaccines IPT team and maintains cGMP compliance.

The position is hybrid during startup but will move toward routine operation.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated industrial maintenance, mechanical, and electrical skills.
• Ability to read electrical prints, P&IDs, and control loop diagrams.
• Willing to work irregular hours to support multi-shift operation.

Responsibilities

• Set up, adjust, repair, and maintain vaccine processing and packaging equipment.
• Execute preventive maintenance and document in batch records/CMMS.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform root-cause analysis as needed.
• Collaborate with operators to support manufacturing tasks in the pod facility.
