Job summary

MedCura Health seeks a Vaccine for Children Coordinator to oversee GRITS/VTrckS operations within Georgia’s VFC program. The role involves data analysis, inventory management, temperature monitoring, and monthly reporting to ensure compliance with vaccine storage and handling policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Medical Assistant with vaccine schedule and vaccination administration experience preferred.
• Knowledge of GRITS system.
• Knowledge of VTrckS system.
• Knowledge of ACIP vaccine recommendations.
• Excellent communication, organizational and customer service skills.
• Excellent phone etiquette.
• Performs duties under nursing leadership.
• Serves as the immunization resource for providers.
• Monitors and evaluates VFC providers for compliance with vaccine management policies.
• Checks and records daily min/max temperatures for each vaccine storage unit.
• Maintains refrigerator temperatures 35–46°F (2–8°C).
• Maintains freezer temperatures below 5°F (-15°C).
• Takes action on out-of-range temperatures and submits VSIR if needed.
• Downloads digital data loggers by the 5th of each month into OSIIS.
• Ensures packing slips match contents and OSIIS entries for received stock.

Responsibilities

• Analyze data to determine effectiveness of vaccine management and storage policies.
• Manage vaccine inventory, temperature excursions, and monthly reporting.
• Perform vaccine ordering, inventory reconciliation, and proper storage/handling.
• Monitor, transfer, and stock vaccines; implement emergency vaccine plan as required.
• Provide administrative assistance to the GRITS Program—VFC Section.
• Offer technical assistance and education to immunization partners and the public.
• Review immunization state and federal policies and regulations.
• Develop and update policies, procedures, and guidelines for program quality improvement.
• Generate daily reports and reconcile vaccines daily.
• Coordinate with nursing leadership and GRITS on vaccine viability and stock operations.
