The Durst Organization in New York is seeking Vacation Replacement Cleaners to maintain cleanliness in Midtown properties from March 1 to November 1, 2026. This role involves physical tasks, providing high-quality service to tenants and guests, and ensuring all assigned areas are clean and organized.
Ideal candidates will possess prior office cleaning experience and the ability to operate general custodial tools. This position has the potential for long-term retention based on performance.
Vacation Replacement Cleaners will provide coverage in our Midtown properties from approximately March 1 to November 1, 2026. This position has a limited term of five months with the opportunity for long‑term retention based on business needs and performance evaluation.
Candidate will create a positive experience by providing superior customer service to building tenants and guests. Responsibilities will include ensuring designated areas are always clean and well organized.
Salary is $24.036 per hour. Overtime is eligible and paid at $36.054 per hour. Wages are subject to tax withholdings and other applicable deductions.
Includes cleaning all vertical and horizontal surfaces. Clean microwave and refrigerator if directed. Thoroughly sweep and damp mop floor.
Includes emptying all waste receptacles and replacing with a new clear plastic liner; thoroughly clean all fixtures (toilet bowls, urinal, sinks, partitions, mirrors) with an approved disinfectant; replenish all soap and paper dispensers; thoroughly wash all floors with an approved disinfectant.
Machine scrub floors making sure corners are thoroughly cleaned. Thoroughly rinse scrubbed floor areas and apply floor finish. Thoroughly sweep, damp mop and spray buff hard‑floor surfaces. Special care must be taken not to splash solution on walls, doors and furniture.
Operate freight elevator, remove all rubbish from designated freight elevator lobbies. Ensure that all floors (freight lobbies) are thoroughly swept and mopped.
Ensure all collected rubbish is disposed of in the proper containers (wet or dry trash).
Employee required to stand, walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach; balance; stoop; crouch; bend; talk; and hear. Employee must lift and move up to 75 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
