Job summary

Responsibilities

• Clean and polish lighting fixtures, marble surfaces, and trim.
• Clean rooms, hallways, lobbies, rest rooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, laundry room, locker rooms and other work areas.
• Sweep, scrub, mops, wax, and polish floors and stairways.
• Dust furniture and equipment, vacuum carpets.
• Polish metalwork, clean tiles and saddles.
• Wash walls and woodwork.
• Wash windows, door panels and sills.
• Empty wastebaskets.
• Clean vacant apartments as required.
• Check compactor, remove full bags and put out for pickup per schedule.
• Replenish bathroom supplies.
• Shovel snow and clear walkways in winter.
• Transports small equipment between departments.
• Perform other duties as assigned or needed

Job description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Cleans and polishes lighting fixtures, marble surfaces, and trim.
• Cleans rooms, hallways, lobbies, rest rooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, laundry room, locker rooms and other work areas.
• Sweeps, scrubs, mops, waxes, and polishes floor s and stairways.
• Dusts furniture and equipment, vacuum carpets.
• Polishes metalwork, cleans tiles and saddles.
• Washes wall and woodwork.
• Washes windows, door panels, and sills.
• Empties wastebaskets
• Clean vacant apartments as required
• Check compactor , remove full compactor garbage bags and put out for pick up per schedule. Sweep, mop and disinfect compactor room.
• Replenishes bathroom supplies.
• Clean garage, basement area and grounds
• Shovels snow and clears walkways in winter
• Transports small equipment or tools between departments.
• Perform other duties as assigned or needed

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
