Job summary

Phipps is seeking a dedicated cleaner to perform general housekeeping tasks across a variety of spaces, including lobbies, restrooms, corridors, and common areas. The role involves cleaning fixtures, floors, and surfaces and responding to maintenance needs as required.

Responsibilities include restocking supplies, replacing light bulbs, and ensuring a clean vacant apartment when needed. This position supports building operations and requires reliability and basic custodial skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred; or 1–3 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and polishes lighting fixtures, marble surfaces, and trim.
• Cleans rooms, hallways, lobbies, rest rooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, laundry room, locker rooms and other work areas.
• Sweeps, scrubs, mops, waxes, and polishes floors and stairways.
• Dusts furniture and equipment, vacuum carpets.
• Polishes metalwork, cleans tiles and saddles.
• Washes wall and woodwork.
• Washes windows, door panels, and sills.
• Empties wastebaskets.
• Clean vacant apartments as required.
• Check compactor, remove full compactor garbage bags and put out for pickup per schedule; sweep, mop and disinfect compactor room.
• Replenishes bathroom supplies.
• Replaces light bulbs.
• Clean garage, basement area and grounds.
• Shovels snow and clears walkways in winter.
• Transports small equipment or tools between departments.
• Perform other duties as assigned or needed.
