Job summary

Atlantic Pipe Services, LLC is seeking a Field Technician II (Vactor Operator) to join our growing operations team. This role runs Vactor trucks, pumps and jetting systems to clean sewer and storm drainage and acts as a field leader coordinating daily work.

You will train helpers, read plans, maintain equipment, and uphold safety standards while delivering quality service to municipal, commercial, and industrial clients.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to operate tablets or mobile devices.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Able to lift up to 75 pounds and perform physically demanding work.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate Vactor trucks, vacuum equipment, and high‑pressure jetting systems.

• Perform preventive maintenance and daily inspections on equipment.
• Complete electronic daily logs, inspections, fuel reports, and production reports using tablets.

• Monitor equipment performance and operate within safe pressure limits.
• Identify field challenges and develop effective solutions.
• Maintain a professional appearance and provide excellent customer service.
• Ensure jobs are completed safely, efficiently, and to company quality standards.

Position Summary

The Field Technician II (Vactor Operator) is responsible for operating Vactor trucks and high-pressure jetting equipment to clean and maintain sewer and storm drainage systems. This role serves as a field leader by coordinating daily work activities, training helpers, maintaining equipment, ensuring quality workmanship, and promoting a strong safety culture.

What You’ll Do

Qualifications

Required

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to operate tablets or mobile devices.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and perform physically demanding work.

Preferred

• Two (2) or more years of sewer, storm drainage, underground utility, or related field experience.
• Experience operating Vactor trucks, vacuum trucks, or high‑pressure jetting equipment.
• CDL (Commercial Driver's License) or willingness to obtain one.
• Experience reading utility maps and construction plans.
• Experience leading field crews or training employees.

This position requires working outdoors in a variety of weather conditions and environments, including:

• Commercial and industrial facilities
• Confined spaces
• Wet and muddy conditions
• Active traffic areas

Employees may be exposed to wastewater, noise, heavy equipment, and other job‑site hazards. Comprehensive training and safety equipment are provided.
