Zekai is seeking VA Eligibility Specialists for a remote, short-term contract focusing on evaluating and improving AI systems for veterans health care topics. You will use your enrollment and eligibility expertise to ensure questions resemble real veterans’ needs and that answers are accurate and useful.

No AI experience required; domain knowledge matters. Applicants should have VA enrollment/eligibility or care coordination background, be able to start quickly, and commit 20–30 hours per week

Formación

• Former VA enrollment, eligibility, or care coordination experience, or experience as a VA social worker.
• 1+ years working on VA health care enrollment, eligibility determination, or care coordination.
• Working knowledge of priority groups, income and means testing, and community care US-based.

• Write rubrics that define a correct, complete answer on VA health care eligibility, enrollment, and priority groups, including income and means testing.
• Cover care coordination and community care (including the MISSION Act) and access to care in your rubrics.
• Evaluate AI-generated answers against your rubrics, flagging errors, omissions, and outdated guidance.
• Share clear written feedback with the project team, working asynchronously.

Role Title: VA Eligibility Specialist

Role Type: Contractor

Location: Remote

Time Commitment: 20-30 hours/week, short-term project

our partner is looking for VA Eligibility Specialists to help evaluate and improve AI systems on veterans health care topics. You’ll use your enrollment and eligibility experience to check that questions sound like real veterans and families, and that answers are correct and useful. Accuracy comes first. No AI experience is needed; your domain knowledge is what matters.

• Review sample VA health care questions and flag any that don’t sound like what real veterans or family members ask.
• Write rubrics that define a correct, complete answer on VA health care eligibility, enrollment, and priority groups, including income and means testing.

Required Qualifications

• Former VA enrollment, eligibility, or care coordination experience, or experience as a VA social worker
• 1+ years working on VA health care enrollment, eligibility determination, or care coordination
• Working knowledge of priority groups, income and means testing, and community careUS-based
• Able to start quickly and commit 20-30 hours/week
• Clear, precise writing

Nice to Have

• Experience with veteran outreach and helping veterans apply for health care
• Experience creating guides, checklists, or training materials
• Experience helping a diverse range of veterans and families, including rural and non-English-speaking clients

This is a 100% remote contract role, open to applicants worldwide in the countries the employer accepts.
