Job summary

MSS is seeking a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA-C) to perform Compensation & Pension exams for Veterans in Honolulu, HI. This is a 1-year contract with potential extension, full-time hours, and quick credentialing to onboard.

The role involves reviewing medical records, completing DBQs in Provider Portal, and submitting documentation to VA within 48 hours of each appointment. Training is provided.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Nursing (NP) or PA program completed.
• Active license and ability to work independently.
• Primary care experience required.
• Strong interpersonal skills and flexibility.
• Basic computer skills.
• Compensation exam or VA experience preferred, but not required; module training provided.

Responsibilities

• Perform Compensation & Pension (C&P) exams for Veterans.
• Review medical/mental health history and complete web-based examination forms.
• Complete Disability Benefits Questionnaire (DBQ) promptly (within 48 hours of appointment).
• Submit completed exams to the VA for disability determinations.
• Coordinate with contracted facilities and manage scheduling and documentation.
• Adhere to contract requirements and avoid prescribing or treatment decisions.
