Job summary

Komatsu America Corp. is seeking a UX Strategy Manager to lead a team of UX researchers and designers, owning the UX vision across eCommerce, subscriptions and training platforms. You will align with executives, manage the UX backlog, and drive a unified customer experience.

You will collaborate with product, marketing and IT to unify digital products, evolve design systems, and champion UX research, testing and best practices to deliver customer-centric digital solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design, Web Design, User Interface Design or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years leading UX/UI teams.
• Minimum of 7 years designing mobile friendly, responsive B2B and B2C eCommerce websites.
• Strong portfolio of prior work demonstrating delivery of complex, large-scale digital re-designs.
• Modern web development practices including implementing UX best practices, responsive design and mobile first layouts.
• Demonstrated graphic design skills to turn wireframes into high-fidelity visual designs.
• Experience with usability testing practices and methodologies.
• Experience with web front-end development, HTML/CSS.

Responsibilities

• Own the design and experience of websites and digital products within scope of the Digital Office, including global website and customer/distributor apps.
• Lead, coach, and inspire a multidisciplinary team of UX/UI designers and researchers.
• Define and develop the big-picture UX/UI strategy with executives, strategy, and product management.
• Proactively own the UX team backlog and identify initiatives to lead and partner on.
• Create well-defined engagement / UX discovery plans for new initiatives.
• Host workshops with product/technical teams to drive product innovation from a user-centric approach.
• Own a federated design system ensuring brand consistency across digital products.
• Establish and maintain best practices for user research and testing.
• Advocate for UX practices embedded within digital and product strategy.
• Document UX processes across research, discovery, planning, prototyping and testing.
• Identify opportunities to streamline processes by adopting UX standards.
