Job summary

Crystal Equation Corporation seeks an experienced UX Researcher III to work onsite in Seattle, collaborating with XR researchers and scientists to shape prototype-driven studies. You will help plan, run, and document sessions, and summarize early insights under senior guidance.

You will set up prototypes, pilot sessions, and develop materials, while independently moderating sessions and collecting data for preliminary analysis.

Job description

UX Researcher III Onsite Summary: As a researcher working with XR Tech researchers and scientists, you will have the opportunity to work with advanced technology, many new hardware and software prototypes before they become products, and prototypes developed exclusively for research. You will help plan and run sessions, setup and debug prototypes, and summarize and do preliminary analysis of data, under the guidance of a principal researcher.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate closely with researchers to plan research and agree on procedures and protocols.
• Independently or collaboratively setup prototypes for research sessions.
• Help pilot research sessions, test prototypes, and develop study protocol materials.
• Independently moderate study sessions according to the research protocol, keeping track of time, and making judgments to guide in the moment decisions.
• Collect all data necessary during research sessions, summarize insights, and run preliminary analysis on data.

Skills:

• Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong ability to work independently and manage ones time.
• Knowledge of best practices for qual research and basic quant data analysis.
• Experience with autonomy and decision making to balance demands.

Education/Experience:

• BA/BS or higher in a human behavior related field, such as human-computer interaction, psychology, sociology, communication, information science, media studies, computer science, or economics.

Pay range is $59 - $64 per hour with full benefits available, including paid time off, medical/dental/vision/life insurance, 401K, parental leave, and more. Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. Pay is based on several factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
