Job summary

Allegion plc is seeking a Summer Intern, User Experience (UX) Research – Carmel, IN. You will assist in research and design across the product design life cycle, documenting user needs, conducting generative research, usability testing, and designing deliverables.

You’ll work with UX researchers and cross-functional teams to inform product decisions in a collaborative, hybrid setting. The role is ideal for students in UX, HCI, or related fields with a portfolio and strong communication skills,

Qualifications

• Portfolio showcasing research work and user needs
• Strong written and verbal communication to convey findings
• Ability to analyze research data and derive actionable insights
• Stay current with research tools, methods, trends and technology
• Solid grasp of Design Thinking, UI/layout concepts and their impact on design

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with UX team to develop research informing personas and journey maps
• Conduct surveys, interviews, usability tests and heuristic evaluations
• Identify opportunities, develop research plans, recruit participants and present findings
• Communicate research findings to product and business partners
• Support creation of design deliverables and documentation for feedback
• Collaborate with product and development teams to assess feasibility and hand-offs
