Job description

Product Researcher
About Bask Health

Bask Health is building the infrastructure that powers modern telehealth businesses. Our platform enables healthcare companies to launch, operate, and scale digital care experiences, from patient onboarding and clinical workflows to prescriptions, payments, subscriptions, fulfillment, and ongoing care. We move quickly, work across complex healthcare problems, and believe deeply understanding our users is essential to building the right products. We’re looking for a Product Researcher to help us understand those users, uncover meaningful problems, and turn evidence into better product decisions.

About the Role

As a Product Researcher at Bask, your job is not simply to validate designs. You'll help us determine what we should build, why it matters, and whether what we shipped actually improved the experience. You'll work closely with Product, Design, Engineering, and other teams to identify important questions, investigate user behavior, and turn ambiguous signals into clear product opportunities. Our users span multiple sides of the telehealth ecosystem, including healthcare businesses, operators, providers, and patients. You'll develop a deep understanding of how these groups work, where they struggle, and where Bask can create meaningful leverage. We value researchers who are pragmatic, curious, comfortable with ambiguity, and focused on outcomes rather than research ceremony.

What You'll Do
  • Partner with Product and Design to identify the highest-value questions to answer before solutions are defined.
  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative research across customers, operators, providers, and patients to understand their needs, behaviors, motivations, and pain points.
  • Build continuous relationships with users so research becomes an ongoing input into product development rather than something that happens only around individual projects.
  • Combine user interviews, usability testing, surveys, product analytics, support feedback, customer conversations, and business context to develop a complete understanding of user behavior.
  • Identify unmet needs, inefficient workflows, emerging behaviors, and opportunities that can influence Bask's product strategy and roadmap.
  • Turn ambiguous research findings into clear insights, product opportunities, recommendations, and prioritization decisions.
  • Challenge assumptions and help teams distinguish between what users ask for and the underlying problems they actually need solved.
  • Design lightweight experiments and research approaches appropriate to the level of uncertainty. We value getting reliable answers quickly over unnecessary research ceremony.
  • Work closely with designers throughout the product development process, from early concepts through prototypes and production experiences.
  • Conduct usability testing and evaluate prototypes to identify friction before products are shipped.
  • Evaluate shipped experiences to understand whether product changes actually improved user behavior and outcomes.
  • Help identify opportunities where AI and automation can meaningfully improve healthcare workflows while understanding where human judgment and control remain essential.
  • Use AI-assisted research workflows to increase the speed and breadth of research operations and synthesis while maintaining strong judgment around evidence quality, bias, privacy, and research validity.
  • Create journey maps, research reports, personas, frameworks, or other artifacts when they meaningfully improve communication or decision-making—not simply as deliverables.
  • Build systems that make research insights accessible and useful across Product, Design, Engineering, and the broader company.
How We Think About Research

At Bask, research isn't a step in the design process. It's a way of reducing uncertainty. Sometimes that means spending significant time understanding a complex workflow. Sometimes it means talking to five customers this week. Sometimes it means analyzing behavioral data, testing a prototype, reviewing support conversations, or running a quick experiment. We’re less interested in the number of research artifacts you produce and more interested in what changed because of what you learned. The best researchers at Bask will help us answer three questions: Are we solving a real problem? Are we solving it in the right way? Did the experience actually get better after we shipped it?

What Success Looks Like

You’ll be successful in this role when teams involve research before solutions are defined, product decisions are increasingly grounded in evidence rather than assumptions, and Bask develops a deeper shared understanding of its customers and patients. Most importantly, your work will help us build fewer things that don’t matter and build the things that do with much greater confidence.

What We're Looking For
  • Proven experience in Product Research, UX Research, User Research, or a similar role within a digital product organization.
  • A strong track record of taking ambiguous product questions, determining what evidence is needed, gathering it efficiently, and influencing meaningful product decisions.
  • Experience with qualitative research methods including user interviews, usability testing, contextual inquiry, and concept testing.
  • Experience using quantitative signals such as surveys, product analytics, experiments, or behavioral data alongside qualitative research.
  • Strong analytical thinking and the ability to distinguish meaningful patterns from noise.
  • Excellent synthesis skills—you can take large amounts of messy information and turn them into a clear understanding of what matters and why.
  • Strong product judgment and an understanding of how research connects to product strategy, design, engineering constraints, and business outcomes.
  • The ability to communicate research findings clearly and persuasively to designers, engineers, product managers, executives, and other stakeholders.
  • Comfort working in a fast-moving environment where questions may be ambiguous and the ideal research methodology isn’t always obvious.
  • A pragmatic approach to research. You know when a question requires rigorous investigation and when a lightweight approach can provide enough confidence to move forward.
  • Experience collaborating closely with Product and Design throughout discovery, development, and post-launch evaluation.
  • Comfort using modern AI tools to accelerate research workflows while maintaining critical thinking and independent judgment.
  • Curiosity about how AI is changing user behavior, software interfaces, and the way products are designed and built.
Nice to Have
  • Experience with B2B SaaS, healthcare, telehealth, fintech, marketplaces, or other complex software platforms.
  • Experience researching products with multiple user types or sides of a marketplace.
  • Experience working with product analytics and behavioral data.
  • Experience conducting research in regulated or privacy-sensitive environments.
  • Experience researching AI-powered products, automation, or workflows involving human-AI collaboration.
  • Experience establishing research practices, repositories, or continuous discovery programs within a growing product organization.
