Job summary
Consumers Energy in Michigan offers a UX design internship to learn from experienced professionals and gain hands-on experience across product design, UX research, and cross‑functional collaboration with design, product, and engineering teams.
The role is for students enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program with a 2.7+ GPA, and requires familiarity with Figma and UI/UX principles. Housing/living stipend arrangements may be available; campus recruiting occurs in fall.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in UX Design, HCI, or related field with GPA 2.7+.
- Strong portfolio showcasing UI/UX design principles.
- Ability to work under supervision and collaborate with teams.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with designers, PMs, and developers to understand user needs.
- Assist in user research including surveys, interviews, and usability testing.
- Translate research findings into wireframes, prototypes and user flows.
- Utilize Figma to craft intuitive and visually appealing interfaces.
- Contribute to design systems and UI pattern libraries.
- Participate in brainstorming sessions, design reviews and workshops.
- Document design decisions and artifacts.
