BST Gallagher Flynn LLP is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Tax Co-op student to join our team in South Burlington, Vermont. This hands-on role involves preparing corporate, personal, and trust tax returns, assisting with tax planning, and contributing to compliance-related projects.

You will work with senior staff on client engagements, stay current with changes in tax laws, and develop foundational skills for a career in tax and public accounting.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Bachelor of Accounting program (3rd or 4th year preferred).
• Strong interest in pursuing a CPA designation.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills, especially during busy season.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Detail-oriented, with ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare personal, corporate, and trust income tax returns
• Assist with preparation of tax and government filings
• Support tax planning initiatives and research tax issues using internal and external resources
• Prepare and maintain tax working papers and documentation in compliance with firm standards
• Assist with correspondence to clients
• Ensure deadlines are met and work is completed with accuracy and attention to detail
• collaborate with senior staff on client engagements and participate in tax season activities
