Job summary

BST Gallagher Flynn LLP in Burlington, VT seeks a motivated Co-op student to gain hands-on experience in audit and assurance engagements across industries. You will work closely with senior team members to support client engagements and develop key technical and professional skills in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

This role is specifically available for UVM GSB students, starts in January and ends at the end of April, and focuses on client service, working papers, and collaborative team

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Bachelor of Accounting program (3rd or 4th year preferred).
• Intention to pursue CPA designation is a strong asset.
• Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals (ASPE/IFRS and audit/tax concepts).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management abilities.
• Team-oriented with a proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in performing audits, reviews, and compilations for clients in a variety of industries
• Prepare working papers and document audit and assurance procedures in accordance with firm standards
• Perform account reconciliations and analytical procedures
• Conduct research on accounting and tax issues and assist in drafting client correspondence
• Participate in client meetings and site visits, as needed
• Maintain organized and accurate client files and documentation
• Collaborate with team members to meet engagement deadlines and deliver high-quality work
