Job summary

BST Gallagher Flynn LLP, a Vermont-based professional services firm, offers an internship for UVM Grossman School of Business students. You’ll gain hands-on experience in audit and assurance engagements across industries, working with senior team members to support client engagements in a fast-paced environment, on-site in South Burlington.

Candidates must be enrolled in a Bachelor of Accounting (3rd or 4th year) with intent to pursue CPA, strong knowledge of ASPE/IFRS, and proficiency in Excel

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Bachelor of Accounting program (3rd or 4th year preferred)
• Intention to pursue CPA designation is a strong asset
• Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals (ASPE/IFRS and audit/tax concepts)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management abilities
• Team-oriented with a proactive attitude and willingness to learn
• Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment

Responsibilities

• Assist in performing audits, reviews, and compilations for clients in a variety of industries
• Prepare working papers and document audit and assurance procedures in accordance with firm standards
• Perform account reconciliations and analytical procedures
• Conduct research on accounting and tax issues and assist in drafting client correspondence
• Participate in client meetings and site visits, as needed
• Maintain organized and accurate client files and documentation
• Collaborate with team members to meet engagement deadlines and deliver high-quality work

Working Conditions:

• Ability to sit and use computers for extended periods of time

• This position starts in January and ends at the end of April

University of Vermont Grossman School of Business students must complete the eligibility and intake screen with the Grossman Co-op office.

Salary Description

$25/HOUR
