Job summary

The University of Utah is seeking a part-time Custodian for the University Union with an evening shift (approximately 5–10 pm, hours flexible). This work-study eligible student job pays $15.00 per hour and requires enrollment as a U of U student.

Responsibilities include cleaning, setup and teardown for events, moving equipment, and maintaining clean and safe environments. A background check may be required; URS information provided by HR.

  • Cleans, refinishes, and maintains a variety of floor coverings.
  • Transports custodial supplies and equipment to and from storage and work areas.
  • Transports trash and refuse, removes empty boxes, and organizes closets.
  • Helps with event setups and teardowns by placing chairs, tables, and other equipment throughout the Union Building.

Job Summary

Performs various cleaning tasks to provide all staff, and visitors a safe and clean environment by maintaining standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and free from hazards. Prepares meeting spaces for daily events, which may include planning, set-up, and take down as needed. May be responsible for unloading equipment or supplies.
