Job summary

The University of Utah, through the A. Ray Olpin University Union, provides programs and services for the campus and surrounding community. The Union is looking to support that mission by assisting with preventative maintenance and work orders in the Union building.

This role will also be responsible for setting up and taking down events as needed. This on-site position supports facilities operations and event logistics across campus, with a focus on safety, reliability, and collaboration with

• Entry-level position with on-the-job training.
• Six months experience equivalency (6 months education can substitute for one year of related work experience).
• Ability to perform heavy lifting and stooping.
• Ability to use a variety of equipment.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive maintenance tasks to keep facilities, equipment, and work areas in good condition.
• Complete facility work orders, including basic repairs, cleaning, and maintenance activities as assigned.
• Prepare meeting spaces for daily events, including planning, setup, and takedown.
• Set up chairs, tables, and other equipment for events.
• Provide incidental services related to events, such as garbage removal or cleaning.
• May unload equipment or supplies.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

Minimum Qualifications

Entry-level position, will receive training on the job. Six months experience equivalency (6 months year of education can be substituted for one year of related work experience) preferred. The ability to perform heavy lifting and stooping; the ability to use a variety of equipment; a commitment to providing excellent customer service; and a valid driver’s license also required.
