Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., Nursing, Social Work/Counseling, Psychology).
• Three to five years work related experience in Inpatient psychiatric setting as a treatment team member or utilization review experience
• Strong knowledge of medical records review processes and utilization standards.
• Familiarity with federal, state, and county regulations pertaining to patient care.
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to analyze complex information.
• Effective communication skills for advocating on behalf of residents and collaborating with medical providers.
• Compassionate and empathetic approach when dealing with patients and their treatment needs.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the design, development, implementation, and monitoring of UM functions.
• Achieve goals of clinical, financial and utilization objectives within the UM plan.
• Serve as internal resource on issues related to resource utilization and coordination of care.
