Job summary

Pasco County Utilities is seeking a Utility Worker I/Trainee to perform manual labor tasks related to the operation and maintenance of water, wastewater, and reclaimed water systems. This includes installation, repair, and maintenance of system appurtenances.

The position supports a career path up to Utility Worker II/III and beyond as certifications and performance criteria are met. Candidates must be able to lift up to 80 lbs and operate related equipment.

Qualifications

• Graduation from High School or an acceptable equivalency diploma.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 80 pounds and push/pull heavy objects.
• Ability to work outside in varying conditions and perform strenuous labor for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Operates, maintains, and repairs potable and reclaimed water systems.
• Maintains facilities including custodial tasks and equipment upkeep.
• Assists in installing and repairing water distribution lines and site restoration.
