Job summary

Okaloosa Gas is seeking a Utility Worker I (Laborer) to assist in the construction and maintenance of gas distribution and transmission lines. The position requires safety awareness, physical labor, and the ability to operate basic equipment.

Incumbents must meet the district’s customer service standards and be capable of performing job duties with minimal supervision. High School diploma and valid Florida driver’s license are preferred requirements.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Zero to two years of experience in utility construction or maintenance.
• Ability to read records, reports, and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Excavate and install service lines and mains; dig trenches and operate manual tools.
• Repair lines and perform pipe joints and taps.
• Weld polyethylene pipe and connections.
• Cap and isolate lines as needed.
• Load, unload, and transport materials and equipment.
