Job summary

Novo Building Products in Ohio seeks an Experienced Utility I production worker to support diverse production functions safely and efficiently. The role requires assisting machine operators, loading and stacking materials, inspecting for defects, and maintaining a clean, organized work area.

You will read written procedures and standard work instructions, apply basic math, and promptly communicate machine issues to supervisors. Some overtime and shift flexibility may be required.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Use of proper PPE and company approved tools while remaining aware of hazards and maintaining a safe work environment.
• Demonstrates basic math, interpersonal, and reasoning skills.
• Ability to read, understand and conduct written procedures and standard work instructions.

Responsibilities

• Assist machine operators ensuring supplies are available for processing and downtime goals are met.
• Ensure feed rate supports machine specs and goals.
• Assist with loading, processing, and stacking material.
• Inspect material for defects prior to and after processing.
• Sands, packages and labels work in process and finished products.
• Identify and communicate machine maintenance and/or performance issues to supervisor.
• Ensure proper guarding and safety devices are functioning and in use.
• Provide coverage as needed in other areas within or outside of the department.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas and keep pace with production demands.

Position Summary

The Utility I production worker will be responsible for supporting the various production functions efficiently and safely within their assigned department.

Essential Responsibilities

• Ability to work with wood, wood filler, glue, sandpaper, dust, etc.
• Assists machine operators ensuring needed supplies and products are available for processing, allowing downtime and challenging goals are met.
• Ensures feed rate supports machine specs and goals.
• Assists with loading, processing, and stacking material.
• Inspects material for defects prior to and after processing.
• Sands, packages and labels work in process and finished products.
• Identifies and communicates machine maintenance and/or performance issues to supervisor.
• Ensures proper guarding and safety devices are functioning and in use.
• Provides coverage as needed in other areas within or outside of the department.
• Ensures work areas are maintained in clean and organized fashion.
• Maintains work pace required to achieve production demands.
• Maintains compliance with all company policies and procedures.
• May work overtime, alternate shifts and weekends as needed on short notice.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
