Job summary

Standex International, a global industrial growth company, is seeking a Utility Worker to support production operations across multiple shop areas. The role involves material handling, machine operation assistance, logistics, and housekeeping with a schedule from 2:15pm to 10:15pm and shift differential.

The ideal candidate has a High School diploma or GED, holds an OSHA forklift license plus 1C and 3A hoisting licenses, and can lift up to 50 lbs while working safely in a noisy, dusty

Qualifications

• Must hold OSHA forklift license and hoisting licenses 1C and 3A.
• Reliable transportation and ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Assist with shop production and setup operations (Machining, welding, HT, spinning, shipping).
• Monitor hot spin operations to maintain proper temperatures.
• Perform basic fabrication tasks including buffing and deburring; weld prep prep work.
• Rigging, staging, flipping product and tooling for operations.
• Move parts and tooling between operations and storage; remove scrap.
• Clean up machinery and tooling; apply rust preventatives; general shop housekeeping.
• Organize and maintain storage for product and tooling.
• Pack WIP and finished components.
• Follow PPE requirements and report material discrepancies.

Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, the Utility Worker will support production operations by performing a variety of tasks including material handling, machine operation assistance, logistics, and general housekeeping in all areas of the production shop.

Schedule: 2:15pm-10:15pm; shift differential offered

What You'll Do

Daily Responsibilities

• Assist with all shop production and setup operations. (Machining, welding, HT, spinning, shipping)
• Hot spin helper operations monitoring torches to achieve and maintain proper tooling and part temperatures.
• Ability to perform basic fabrication operations including buffing, deburring, generation of weld preps and other process to prepare plates, in process parts and rework parts for manufacturing
• Some rigging, staging, flipping product and tooling for all operations
• Material handling operations that include but not inclusive of moving parts and tooling between operations and storage, removal of scrap.
• Clean up of machinery and tooling, coat tooling with proper rust preventatives, perform general shop, yard housekeeping clean up and emptying trash.
• Organize and maintain product and tooling storage.
• Packing operations on WIP and finished components.
• Basic fabrication operations and removal of material test coupons
• Demonstrations a working knowledge and follow all of the PPE requirements for the utility position
• Demonstrate accuracy in all documentation and job reporting

What You'll Bring
