Davey Tree Expert Co is seeking a utility tree trimmer to join our outdoor operating team. The role involves pruning and removing trees for major electric utility providers, using climbing systems and ground operations to ensure safety and efficiency.

You will handle chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts, and other equipment while coordinating with crew and foreperson. Ideal candidates love the outdoors, can complete required safety and driving trainings, and hold a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Outdoor work in varying seasonal weather with safety focus.
• Must complete Davey Tree orientation and training after hire.
• Compliance with safety protocols and efficient use of equipment.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% as needed.

Responsabilités

• Climb trees using DdRT/MRS or SRT/SRS climbing systems.
• Prune and remove trees safely for major electric utilities.
• Repair damaged trees by trimming or removal as needed.
• Remove broken limbs from lines, roofs, or other objects.
• Operate and maintain chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and related gear.
• Work as a crew member with ground crew and foreperson.

Position Overview

Job Duties

What You’ll Do:

• Climb Trees! Davey offers both DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems
• Perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for major electric utility providers. Including but not limited to:
• Pruning treetops and repairing damaged trees by trimming or removal
• Removing broken limbs from utility lines, roofs, and other objects
• Application of tree identification knowledge and industry pruning guidelines
• Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including, chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more
• Operate as an active crew member with supporting ground crew and foreperson

Qualifications

What We’re Seeking:

• Love of the outdoors
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire
• Required: valid driver’s license
• Preferred: Commercial Driver’s License-Class A or B with Airbrake Endorsement
• Preferred: line clearance experience or other related tree work
• Preferred: relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law
