Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company is seeking a utility tree trimmer to join our Jacksonville team. You will climb using DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS systems to prune and remove trees for major electric utility providers, including trimming treetops and repairing damaged trees.

You will remove limbs from lines and roofs, applying industry pruning guidelines. Role requires operating a range of tools and equipment, including chainsaws, chippers and aerial lifts, while collaborating with a ground crew and

Qualifications

• Must be able to complete Davey Tree Orientation Program after hire.
• Must complete Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving courses after hire.
• Valid driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

• Climb trees using DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems.
• Perform pruning and removal for major electric utility providers.
• Prune treetops and repair damaged trees by trimming or removal.
• Remove broken limbs from lines, roofs, and other obstacles.
• Identify trees using industry pruning guidelines and applicable knowledge.
• Maintain and operate chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and related equipment.
• Work as part of a crew with ground crew and foreperson.
• Growth opportunities depend on performance.

What We’re Seeking:

• Love of the outdoors
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire
• Required: valid driver’s license
• Preferred: Commercial Driver’s License-Class A or B with Airbrake Endorsement
• Preferred: line clearance experience or other related tree work
• Preferred: relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law
• Preferred: ISA Certified Arborist®, ISA Certified Tree Worker®, and/or TCIA Certified Tree Care Safety Professional®
