The Davey Tree Expert Company is seeking a utility tree trimmer for on-site work in Cypress, TX and surrounding areas. This permanent, full-time role involves climbing trees, pruning, and assisting in removal operations for major electric utility providers.

Requirements include a valid driver’s license and the ability to climb trees manually; CDL is preferred. We offer full benefits and career development in a large, employee-owned company with national presence.

Qualifications

• Must be able to climb trees manually.
• Completion of Davey Tree Orientation Program on hire.
• Complete Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course on hire.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• CDL-A or CDL-B with Airbrake Endorsement preferred.

Responsibilities

• Climb trees using DdRT/MRS or SRT/SRS climbing systems.
• Perform pruning and removal work for major electric utility clients.
• Prune treetops and repair damaged trees as needed.
• Remove broken limbs from structures and lines.
• Operate and maintain chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts, and related tools.
• Work as an active crew member with ground crew and foreperson.

Job Duties

What You’ll Do:

• Climb Trees! Davey offers both DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems
• Perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for major electric utility providers. Including but not limited to:
• Pruning treetops and repairing damaged trees by trimming or removal
• Removing broken limbs from utility lines, roofs, and other objects
• Application of tree identification knowledge and industry pruning guidelines
• Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including, chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more
• Operate as an active crew member with supporting ground crew and foreperson

Qualifications

What We’re Seeking:

• Love of the outdoors
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire
• Required: valid driver’s license
• Required: must be able to climb trees manually
• Preferred: Commercial Driver’s License-Class A or B with Airbrake Endorsement
• Preferred: line clearance experience or other related tree work
• Preferred: relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law
• Preferred: ISA Certified Arborist®, ISA Certified Tree Worker®, and/or TCIA Certified Tree Care Safety Professional®
