Job summary

Davey Tree Expert Company, Wilson, NC, is seeking a Utility Trimmer to join our on-site crew. You will climb trees using DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS systems, prune and remove to support major electric utility providers, and perform safe, skilled work with ground crew and foreperson.

We value outdoors lovers who can complete orientation, safety, first aid and defensive driving courses upon hire, hold a valid driver's license, and prefer CDL-A/B.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors.
• Ability to complete Davey Tree orientation on hire.
• Ability to complete Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving on hire.
• Required: valid driver’s license.
• Preferred: CDL-A/B with Airbrake Endorsement.
• Preferred: line clearance or related tree work.

Responsibilities

• Climb trees using DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems.
• Prune and remove trees safely for major electric utility providers.
• Repair damaged trees and remove broken limbs from lines, roofs, and objects.
• Maintain, prepare and operate tools and equipment (chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts).
• Work as a crew member with ground crew and foreperson.

• Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including, chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more
• Operate as an active crew member with supporting ground crew and foreperson

• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire
• Required: valid driver’s license
• Preferred: Commercial Driver’s License-Class A or B with Airbrake Endorsement
• Preferred: line clearance experience or other related tree work
• Preferred: relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law
• Preferred: ISA Certified Arborist®, ISA Certified Tree Worker®, and/or TCIA Certified Tree Care Safety Professional®
