Davey Tree Surgery Co. is seeking a dynamic Utility Tree Trimmer to join our outdoor team. Your office will be outdoors with a changing view each day, performing climbing, pruning, and removal work for major electric utility providers.

You will be trained on the job through Davey Tree Orientation, First Aid/CPR, and defensive driving courses. A valid driver’s license is required, with CDL preferred. Experience in line clearance or related tree work is a plus.

Qualifications

• Love of outdoor work.
• Ability to complete Davey Tree Orientation Program on hire.
• Ability to complete Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course on hire.
• Required: valid driver’s license.
• Preferred: CDL-Class A or B with Airbrake endorsement.
• Preferred: line clearance experience or other related tree work.
• Preferred: pesticide licenses/certificates as required by state law.

Responsibilities

• Climb trees and perform pruning/removal safely for utility providers.
• Prune treetops and repair damaged trees by trimming or removal.
• Remove broken limbs from utility lines and structures.
• Identify trees and apply industry pruning guidelines.
• Maintain and operate tools and equipment (chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts).
• Work as part of a crew with ground crew and foreperson.
• Grow your career through hands-on field work.

Position Overview

Job Duties

What You’ll Do:

• Climb Trees! Davey offers both DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems
• Perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for major electric utility providers. Including but not limited to:
• Pruning treetops and repairing damaged trees by trimming or removal
• Removing broken limbs from utility lines, roofs, and other objects
• Application of tree identification knowledge and industry pruning guidelines
• Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including, chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more
• Operate as an active crew member with supporting ground crew and foreperson

Qualifications

What We’re Seeking:

• Love of the outdoors
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire
