Job summary

The Davey Tree Surgery Company is offering a key opportunity in Utility Line Clearance as a Climber. The role involves climbing trees to prune and remove limbs for major electric utility providers, using safe techniques and industry guidelines.

Pre-employment requirements include a valid driver’s license and possibly a CDL; previous climbing experience and completion of Davey safety courses are preferred. This is a permanent, on-site position with opportunities for advancement in a nationwide

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Driver’s license required; Commercial driver’s license preferred and may be required, depending on job requirements.
• Electric utility tree trimming/climbing experience preferred.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Climb trees and perform pruning and removal services for major electric utility providers.
• Prune treetops and repair damaged trees; remove broken limbs from lines, roofs and objects.
• Operate tools and equipment safely, including chainsaws and aerial lifts.
