Job summary

Mativ is seeking a Utility Operator to support our Filtration and Advanced Materials operations in a manufacturing environment. The role includes housekeeping and various production tasks, with a 12-hour shift schedule from 12AM to 8AM.

Responsibilities cover housekeeping and line-side production activities, including material staging, tool operation, and safety compliance. Must lift up to 70 lbs and read English measurement data; prior forklift experience is a plus.

• Housekeeping: Sweep/mop floors; Clean tables, cabinets, counters; Take out trash; Remove dust/cobwebs from walls and ceilings.
• Production: Operate offline sheeter; Run tip welder in conversion; Operate tow motor; Stage raw materials; Assist with scrap, baling, retrieving pallets; Assist with doffing operation; Clean and deburr tuber; Pack tubes for line 410/411; Operate core cutter.

Description:

Our Utility Operator supports Mativ's Filtration and Advanced Materials Function. This individual will efficiently support Extrusion operations and Conversion Operations as needed. To keep the Plant floor and break room in a neat and orderly manner through daily housekeeping chores. The shift schedule is 12AM-8AM.

Responsibilities:

• Housekeeping:
  • Sweep/ mop floors
  • Clean tables, cabinets, and counters
  • Take out trash
  • Remove dust/cobwebs from walls and ceilings
• Production:
  • Operator offline sheeter as necessary
  • Run tip welder in conversion
  • Operate tow motor
  • Stage raw materials
  • Assist with scrap, baling, retrieving pallets
  • Assist with doffing operation
  • Clean and debur tuber
  • Pack tubes for line 410/411
  • Operator core cutter

Qualifications:

Required

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Ability to lift up to 70 pounds
• Basic mathematical skills
• Read and comprehend English, including English measuring system
• Ability to coordinate activities of the utility (understand and process info to Data Collection System)
• Ability to read a ruler to the nearest \"
• Self motivated

Preferred

• Prior forklift experience
• Past packaging experience

Position Demands

Conditions are that of a manufacturing environment:

• Air Temperatures can range from cold to hot.
• Atmosphere may contain dust, fumes, and odors.
• May include mechanical, electrical, chemical, explosive and radiation hazards.

Employees are required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including:

• Safety shoes (steel toe or composite toe)
• Safety Glasses
• Bump Caps
• Protective Gloves, when performing certain tasks
• Hearing Protection, when required
• Other personal protective equipment as required for certain tasks.

While performing the duties of this job the employee must meet the physical demands:

• Be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
• Be able to push or pull heavy objects up to 250 pounds.
• Be able to work 12-hour shifts.
• Perform repetitive tasks.
• Routinely stand, sit, hear, walk, and talk.
• Reach, climb, bend, kneel, crouch, twist, and balance, sometimes in awkward or tight spaces.
• Have good close vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.

This position has an hourly base wage of $18.29 an hour and hours worked between 4pm-8am are eligible for a $1 per hours shift differential.
