Job summary

Mativ Holdings, Inc. is seeking a Utility Operator to support Filtration and Advanced Materials operations. The role includes housekeeping, operating equipment, moving materials, and packaging tasks on a 12-hour shift. Must be able to lift 50–70 pounds and work in a manufacturing environment with PPE required.

The position offers a base wage of $18.29 per hour with a $1 shift differential for hours between 4pm and 8am. Prior forklift or packaging experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Able to lift up to 70 pounds and read measurements in English.
• Basic math and data entry to support the Data Collection System.
• Self motivated with ability to coordinate utility tasks.
• Preferred forklift experience and packaging exposure.

Responsibilities

• Housekeeping: sweep, mop, clean tables, take out trash, dust walls.
• Production: operate offline sheeter and tip welder as needed.
• Move materials with tow motor; stage raw materials and pack tubes.
• Assist with scrap handling, doffing, deburring, and line packaging.
• Follow safety rules and PPE requirements; perform standard tasks.

Description

Our Utility Operator supports Mativ's Filtration and Advanced Materials Function. This individual will efficiently support Extrusion operations and Conversion Operations as needed. To keep the Plant floor and break room in a neat and orderly manner through daily housekeeping chores. The shift schedule is 12AM-8AM.

Responsibilities

• Housekeeping:
  • Sweep/mop floors
  • Clean tables, cabinets, and counters
  • Take out trash
  • Remove dust/cobwebs from walls and ceilings
• Production:
  • Operator offline sheeter as necessary
  • Run tip welder in conversion
  • Operate tow motor
  • Stage raw materials
  • Assist with scrap, baling, retrieving pallets
  • Assist with doffing operation
  • Clean and debur tuber
  • Pack tubes for line 410/411
  • Operator core cutter

Qualifications

Required

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Ability to lift up to 70 pounds
• Basic mathematical skills
• Read and comprehend English, including English measuring system
• Ability to coordinate activities of the utility (understand and process info to Data Collection System)
• Ability to read a ruler to the nearest "
• Self motivated

Preferred

• Prior forklift experience
• Past packaging experience

Position Demands

Conditions are that of a manufacturing environment:

• Air Temperatures can range from cold to hot.
• Atmosphere may contain dust, fumes, and odors.
• May include mechanical, electrical, chemical, explosive and radiation hazards.

Employees are required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including:

• Safety shoes (steel toe or composite toe)
• Safety Glasses
• Bump Caps
• Protective Gloves, when performing certain tasks
• Hearing Protection, when required
• Other personal protective equipment as required for certain tasks.

While performing the duties of this job the employee must meet the physical demands:

• Be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
• Be able to push or pull heavy objects up to 250 pounds.
• Be able to work 12-hour shifts.
• Perform repetitive tasks.
• Routinely stand, sit, hear, walk, and talk.
• Reach, climb, bend, kneel, crouch, twist, and balance, sometimes in awkward or tight spaces.
• Have good close vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.

This position has an hourly base wage of $18.29 an hour and hours worked between 4pm-8am are eligible for a $1 per hours shift differential.
