Job summary

Mativ is seeking an extrusion line operator for the 12AM-8AM shift. The role involves setting up and running the extrusion line, troubleshooting, and ensuring products meet specifications. Overtime may be required, and familiarity with safety protocols is essential.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent, be able to read schedules and BOMs, and operate measuring tools like calipers. A forklift certification is preferred, with a base hourly wage of $19.56 plus a $1 shift

Responsibilities

• Set up extrusion line according to schedule.
• Read schedule, BOM, and SOC.
• Install tooling and select proper tooling.
• Start up extrusion machine and test initial product.
• Make adjustments and verify product in spec.
• Package product per instructions and store finished goods.
• Adhere to Food Safety Regulations as applicable.
• Perform QC tests per SOC.
• Enter data into Data Collection.

DESCRIPTION

Efficiently and safely perform the duties of operating an extrusion line machine, including setup, startup, troubleshooting, and continuous operation of equipment. The shift schedule is 12AM-8AM. Must be willing and available to work overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Ability to set-up the extrusion line according to schedule.
  • Read and understand the schedule, BOM, and SOC.
  • Be able to perform all functions of the setup including:
• Select proper tooling
• Install Tooling
• Insure correct resin
• Ability to start up the extrusion machine according to schedule.
  • Position all controls to SOC.
  • Activate Extruder and miscellaneous drives.
  • Test initial product.
  • Make necessary adjustments.
  • Verify product is in spec.
  • Package product in accordance with the packaging instructions.
  • Troubleshoot the process.
  • Perform QC test per SOC.
  • Store finished product per instructions.
  • Validate Process is in Control.
  • Correctly Enters Data in Data Collection.
  • Clean and return to stock all used tooling.
  • Adhere to Food Safety Regulations as applicable.

Qualifications

Required

• High school diploma or equivelent
• Proficient in the use of calipers, micrometers, and rulers.
• Read & understand the Metric & English (US Customary) measuring system.
• Able to read ruler measurement to nearest ¼”
• Able to convert measurements from one system to another.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
• Basic computer skills
• Basic math skills
• Read and comprehend English

Preferred

• Forklift Certification preferred.

Employees are required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including:

• Safety shoes (steel toe or composite toe)
• Safety Glasses
• Protective Gloves, when performing certain tasks
• Hearing Protection, when required
• Other personal protective equipment as required for certain tasks

This position has an hourly base wage of $19.56 an hour and hours worked between 4pm-8am are eligible for a $1 per hours shift differential.
