Lamar State College-Orange seeks an experienced Utility Technician, Mechanical I to support the Physical Plant operations. You will troubleshoot and repair college buildings, electrical and mechanical systems, and coordinate contract work across facilities.
Applicants should have at least three years in similar roles, strong skills in drywall, wiring, plumbing, carpentry, and equipment maintenance, plus the ability to use CMMS software for scheduling and documentation.
The Utility Technician, Mechanical I reports to the Physical Plant Director and the Lead Technician of Lamar State College Orange. Duties and responsibilities shall include, but not be limited to, the following:
Perform other LSCO Physical Plant Department duties as assigned by the Director of Physical Plant or Lead Technician.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
A minimum of three (3) years of experience in troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of similar equipment in comparable facilities is required.
Environment varies and includes but is not limited to working outdoors in all seasons and weather conditions, working indoors without HVAC, working in attics, working at heights, working in confined spaces, working around noisy machinery and equipment, and working on rooftops.
