AdventHealth in Tarpon Springs, FL is seeking a dedicated cleaner to perform daily custodial tasks. You will clean assigned areas, remove waste and linens, and ensure facilities meet safety standards.

The role requires adherence to health and safety policies and strong team collaboration. The position supports patient and staff comfort with attention to detail in cleaning various areas, and offers a stable full-time schedule with opportunities for career development in a faith-based health

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred for custodial roles.
• Ability to read and follow English instructions and safety procedures.
• Experience with environmental cleaning products and equipment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine cleaning tasks including walls, entrances, windows, and sidewalks.
• Transports soiled items per department policy and reports equipment issues.

Job Description:

Cleans assigned areas daily, including removing trash linens and biohaz waste. Conducts project cleaning of walls, light entrances, common areas, windows, vents, and sidewalks as assigned. Transports soiled linen and various types of waste in accordance with department and hospital policies. Utilizes personal protective equipment properly in all aspects of job performance. Monitors and reports any equipment issues or shortages and equipment is maintained. Adjusts to staff shortages and covers other assigned areas as needed. Interacts with patients/customers in an appropriate manner. Documents daily assignments once completed and makes suggestions for improvement. Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Ability to read, to write, to communicate, and understand instructions given in English [Required]
• Knowledge of environmental services equipment and chemicals used by the department [Required]
• Basic computer skills to include the use of mouse and keyboard [Required]
• Ability to maintain equipment and work areas in clean, safe condition [Required]
• Ability to climb and work on a ladder [Required]
