Job summary

AdventHealth Orlando is seeking a dedicated Environmental Services worker to clean patient and public areas daily, stock supplies, and ensure a safe, sanitary environment across multiple AdventHealth locations in the Orlando area.

Responsibilities include waste disposal, use of bed management tech, and adherence to infection control procedures. Prior healthcare cleaning experience is preferred; strong English communication and customer service are required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of cleaning procedures and infection control.
• Ability to read and understand Safety Data Sheets.
• Healthcare environmental services experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Clean patient and public areas daily and dispose of waste.
• Restock supplies and maintain cleaning equipment.
• Maintain bed management tracking using handheld technology.
• Dispose of normal and biohazardous waste per standards.
• Document all work performed.

Job Description:

Cleans assigned patient and public areas daily, including collecting and removing trash and sanitizing all surfaces. Stocks paper items, cleaning solutions and other supplies in assigned areas as necessary or designated. Demonstrates complete knowledge of infection control, isolation procedures, and proper operation of cleaning equipment. Other duties as assigned. Utilizes Bed Management system to maintain productive flow of bed through put, using hand-held technology for tracking. Utilizes equipment that includes cleaning/trash cart, and other janitorial supplies. Collects and stages soiled linen for pick up. Disposes of normal and biohazardous waste. Cleans and disinfects areas containing bodily fluids in accordance with facility standards. Documents all work performed. Accesses ancillary units, restrooms, offices in assigned areas.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field [Required]
• Ability to maintain equipment and work areas in a clean and safe condition [Required]
• Able to communicate in English [Required]
• Basic computer skills and use of mouse and keyboard [Required]
• Must be able to operate a computer using standard office software [Required]
• Excellent customer service skills [Required]

• Must be able to read and understand Safety Data Sheets, product labels, various reports, and perform basic arithmetic [Required]

• Environmental services experience within a healthcare environment [Preferred]
• Knowledge of additional languages [Preferred]
